Robert Halligan, ChFC®, RICP®

Before he ever built a financial plan, Robert Halligan coached college swimmers and taught English to speakers of other languages. What held him in that work was watching people reach ground they had not believed they could. The move into financial planning came once he saw how directly the same kind of guidance could change the course of a family's life, and he has spent more than four decades proving the comparison right.

His method has stayed steady the whole time. He asks where a person has been and where they stand today, listens for the concerns that keep them up at night, and only then works with them to shape where they want to go and how to arrive. He would rather spend an extra hour making the mechanics of a strategy plain than let someone nod along to a plan they do not fully follow.

The weight of the role came into focus the day he hand-delivered a life insurance benefit to the family of a client who had passed away. Seeing what that coverage meant for the people left behind settled any lingering question about why the work matters.

Robert grew up in Pennsylvania as one of seven brothers in an athletic, competitive household, and among the family's distinctions is a mother who was the first woman to drive a school bus in their area. He has lived in Radnor for more than four decades, has served on the boards of several nonprofits, and books a new adventure every quarter, whether that turns out to be a hot air balloon ride, a cooking course, a stretch of beach, or a trip overseas. What drives him is simple to state: he wants the people he works with to be better off for having met him.
